📍 The recently concluded African Ambassadors Economic Forum which took place in Washington DC USA was an opportunity to bring to fore the numerous strengths of the African continent in the global leadership and economic boardroom.
📍 The event was organised by the Global Initiative for the Advancement of Africa (GIAA) and it took place from July 18–19 at the Westin Crystal City Hotel Pentagon in Washington, DC USA.

Dr. Utchay Odims a renowned top advocate for Africa and leadership life coach stated that international trade between Africa and the rest of the world remains key to boost the economic strength of the continent as it has both the goods — mineral products and agricultural produce as well as human resources to enhance its economic strength in the world economic standing.
One distinguished African leader that is making the continent proud in the area of leadership and inter-trade programmes, Dr utchay Odims said Africa cannot do it alone, rather must rely on the partnership it could broker with the larger global community to activate its numerous potentials for accelerated socio-economic development.
He urged leaders on the African continent to put AFRICA FIRST because everything RISES AND FALLS ON LEADERSHIP noting that time has come for African leaders to lead by example.
Dr utchay insisted that value added trade is what it needs as against foreign aid which do not provide lasting solutions to numerous developmental challenges facing the people.
Dr utchay odims also spoke extensively on the need for African Americans to unite with Africa to build her continent of origin.
The two-day event became a vibrant platform for strategic discussions, trade collaborations, cultural exchanges, and innovative ideas—all focused on Africa’s economic transformation and the importance of international cooperation.

New York City’s Mayor Eric Adams spoke at the event where he acknowledged the unique strength of the African economy but expressed worry that poor management has remained the setback.
👉🏻Ambassador Abubakar Jidda, Nigeria’s Consul General in New York, added a vital perspective by urging members of the African diaspora to go beyond remittances by actively investing in local businesses. His call for diaspora-led entrepreneurship aimed to create sustainable, scalable opportunities that benefit both their communities and the continent at large.
